The Ivy and Pearls of Southern Maryland Community Charities, Incorporated (IPSMCC) Debutante Program was the vision of the late member, Mrs. Eva S. Chesley, the first President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Nu Zeta Omega Chapter.
Mrs. Chesley desired to create an experience for young women in Southern Maryland that would enhance their educational goals, academic excellence, community involvement, social graces, and leadership development.
Since the program’s inception, at least 250 young women have participated in this Debutante Program and have been awarded tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships to pursue higher educational opportunities.
